Stainless Steel — SS304, SS316 & SS316L
Stainless steel is our most-requested material — and the one most often specified wrongly. SS304 and SS316 look identical, but in chloride or acidic environments the wrong choice means corrosion within months. As a distributor, our job is not simply to sell sheet, but to make sure the grade you receive truly matches your process.
We supply stainless as plate, sheet, coil, pipe, bar (round/square) and profiles, with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate on every shipment. Fast-moving stock is held in our Jakarta warehouse; special sizes and grades are sourced to order with transparent lead times.
Grades & specifications we supply
- SS304 / SS304L — versatile austenitic for food equipment, tanks, railings and light structures. The L (low-carbon) version welds without sensitisation.
- SS316 / SS316L — 2–3% molybdenum gives far greater chloride resistance; the choice for chemical, pharmaceutical, coastal and oil & gas use.
- SS201 — an economical manganese-based alternative for decorative and low-corrosion applications.
- SS310 / 310S — high-temperature austenitic up to ~1,100°C for furnace components (see also our heat-resistant steel page).
- Duplex 2205 — double the strength plus stress-corrosion-cracking resistance for marine and aggressive process applications.
Forms & sizes stocked
Plate 1.5–25 mm (4'×8' and 5'×10' sheets), sheet 0.4–1.5 mm, coil, seamless and welded pipe ½"–12", round bar Ø6–250 mm, plus angle, channel and hollow section. 2B, BA (mirror) and No.4 (hairline) finishes available. Sizes outside the list can be cut-to-size or imported to order.
Applications by industry
In food & pharma we supply SS304/316L for tanks, mixers and sanitary piping. In chemical & petrochemical, SS316L and duplex for vessels and heat exchangers. For oil & gas and coastal sites, chloride-resistant grades withstand seawater corrosion. General manufacturing uses SS304 for structures, hoppers and enclosures.
Sourcing & lead time
We import from tier-1 mills in China, India and Europe and hold local stock for common grades. Stock items ship in 1–5 working days; special grades/sizes are 3–6 weeks. Every quote states material origin and estimated delivery.
Quality assurance
Each batch carries a Mill Test Certificate (chemical composition + mechanical properties), and on request we provide PMI (Positive Material Identification) for on-site grade verification — important during audits or where critical material must not be mixed up.
