Heat-Resistant & Special Steel

Components working inside furnaces, boilers or smelters cannot use ordinary steel β€” above 800Β°C, carbon steel loses strength and oxidises fast. That is why heat-resistant steel exists: alloys with high chromium and nickel that keep their shape and strength when hot.

We supply the heat-resistant and special-steel family β€” from austenitic SUS310S to tool steels β€” for steel mills, cement, glass, petrochemical and smelter plants across Indonesia.

Heat-resistant special steel bars for industrial furnace components

Grades we supply

  • SUS310 / 310S β€” austenitic 25Cr-20Ni, resists continuous oxidation up to ~1,100Β°C; the standard for furnace baskets, muffles and kiln conveyors.
  • SUS309 / 309S β€” 23Cr-13Ni for temperatures up to ~1,000Β°C, often used as welding filler for heat-resistant steel.
  • 253MA / 314 β€” very-high-temperature alloys for furnace applications demanding long service life.
  • Tool steel β€” SKD11, SKD61 (H13), SKH51 for dies, punches and heat/wear-resistant moulds.
  • Structural alloy steel β€” SCM440 (4140), VCN and chrome-moly for shafts and high-stress mechanical parts.

Forms & sizes

Plate 3–60 mm, round bar Ø10–300 mm, pipe and tube, welding wire, plus heat-resistant castings such as grate bars and radiant tubes to order. Cutting and basic machining can be arranged.

Applications by industry

Steel mills & foundries: heat-treatment trays, baskets and fixtures. Cement: grate coolers, nozzles and mechanical lining. Glass & ceramics: rollers and kiln components. Petrochemical: reformer tubes and supports. Manufacturing: tool-steel dies and punches for pressing and forging.

Sourcing & lead time

Most of these grades are sourced to order because they are specific β€” we import from specialist mills in China, Japan and Europe. Lead time is typically 4–8 weeks; some popular tool steels (SKD11, H13) we hold in limited stock. Exact estimates appear in the quote.

Quality assurance

Mill certificates for composition and mechanical properties are included; for tool steel we provide hardness (HRC) data and the mill's heat-treatment recommendation.

Heat-Resistant & Special Steel β€” Frequently Asked Questions

Up to what temperature is SUS310S safe?
SUS310S resists continuous oxidation up to about 1,100Β°C in air. For higher temperatures or special atmospheres (carburising, sulfidising) we recommend other alloys such as 253MA β€” send us your operating conditions.
How does heat-resistant steel differ from ordinary stainless?
Stainless (SS304/316) is designed for corrosion at room temperature; heat-resistant steel (SUS309/310) has higher nickel and chromium to keep strength and resist oxidation at high temperatures.
Is tool steel pre-hardened?
We usually supply it annealed (soft) for easy machining, with heat-treatment recommendations. Hardening can be arranged on request.
What is the lead time for special grades?
As many grades are imported to order, lead time is typically 4–8 weeks. Some popular tool steels are held in limited stock for faster delivery.
